The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is a leading centre for research and teaching on international development. It contributes two databases to the ELAND service.

British Library for Develoment Studies (BLDS)

BLDS is one of Europe's most comprehensive research collections on international development. It includes:

· over 1000 journals
· over 10,000 magazine, newspaper, annual report and newsletter titles
· over 80,000 monographs, including research reports,working papers and books

The library covers a wide range of development issues including economics, education, environment, gender, health, politics, rural development, social development, and trade. BLDS offers a 48 hour document delivery service and provides email updates on what's new in 15 different subject areas. Further information on the library is available at: http://www.ids.ac.uk/blds

Eldis

Eldis is an online gateway to information on development. It provide access to full-text documents, in-depth topic guides, country profiles, e-mail updates, job announcements and a range of other services. The Eldis database include entries for:

· over 6,000 individually reviewed documents
· over 3,000 development related organisations
· over 120,000 individual web pages
