DCISM databases

The Danish Centre for International Studies and Human Rights (DCISM), established 2003, consists of two independent institutes, served by a joint library and administration.

The DCISM online Web-catalogues are
- 'Books' (including reports etc.)
- 'Articles' (in the main journal's articles)
- and 'Periodicals' (journals holdings)

Several different search options are available and a search can either be defined to one sub-base at a time or to a 'All materials'-search. As of 2004 the databases count about 125.000 entries.

The DCISM library is arguably the foremost Danish collection within the fields of international relations, development and human rights and numbers (2004) more than 100,000 documents, and about 1000 journal-titles, newsletters etc. The collections reflect in much the profiles of the two DCISM institutes. Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) and Danish Institute of Human Rights (IMR) respectively and reflect more generally official Danish foreign policy prorities. The DCISM Library represents the merger of four previously independent libraries, as well as the collections of the Foreign Ministry libraries.
